Weekend Trip | Niagara Falls Ontario

So last weekend was a long weekend for us here in Canada and well spur of the moment we decided that we would go for a small day trip down to Niagara Falls. It is pretty nice down there with lots of area to walk and of course lots to see. Anyways, I took a few pictures while we were down there and I thought I would share them! Sorry this is a bit late .. I had actually typed it all out and had it ready to go when my internet messed up on me and it turned out not to be saved! Anyways here it is ..
As soon as he saw all the water his first question was to go swimming! What a monkey!

Mommy & her lil man!

He had so much fun looking through the ..what are they called again ... hm viewers? lol

There was a parked displayed RCMP cruiser and boy did he have a blast posing for pictures in front of it!

We sat on the grass by the falls for a bit taking some fun pics!

We are all looking in different directions but, I think we look good ;)

I think he enjoyed the day! Topped it off with a big lollipop!
What do you and your family like to do on long weekends or vacations?

Potty Hapiness + Overwhelmed Mommy

Hello ladies! So I have been feeling pretty stressed out the last week or so and I am not exactly sure why that is? Very overwhelmed with a lot to say the least. On another more upbeat note Deen used the potty on two occasions for his business! Then also proceeded to do pee pee in the potty as well. I must say it was and is a pretty amazing feeling to see him growing up and learning new great things ;)

Only problem I seem to be facing is he does not get the concept of pulling down his underwear to use the potty. If i leave him with a bare bum then he is more conscious and goes and does his business when he needs to. This is not ideal though obviously. Any suggestions fellow mommies?

Now to address my complete just mind boggling blankness...Am I the only one who just feels helpless in certain situations? Almost as if there is no solutions left and all your power has just been drained. Seriously is there any way to recharge myself? I don't feel myself lately and a recharge would help lol! Shopping seems to recharge me but that is not in the budget atm! Hah.

Well I will leave you all with a picture of my cutie pie...

First Haircut ♡

Hello ladies!! So I had a great weekend and to say the least an exciting one because we took Deen for his very first haircut. Of course I couldn't help but want to take him somewhere with the little cars and planes for the little ones to sit in. So we ended up at one very similar to melonhead.

Deen was surprisingly very good and sat nicely through MOST of the hair cut. Come they end ...his cooperation was lacking that is for sure...but, hey what can u expect from a 2 and a half year old! .. I was a bit surprised at the price as I was hoping Deen's very little hair (it is super thin and short not much too it) would be considered a "clean up cut" .. well no they insisted to charge me for a regular cut so I went along with that and left a 10% tip ... can u believe I got dirty looks? and no goodbye have a nice day or anything ... I am sorry a $23 (including tip) haircut for a toddler?? Which took like hm 7 mins (no joke) .. I don't know I agree it was outrageous but, I did want Deen to be able to experience the fun though so I am glad I took him and he looks great!

He chose to sit in the jeep! So typical!
How sweet is that smile! This has to be my fave pic of him by far atm!

TRANSITION : High Chair to Big Boy Table

Hope everyone is doing well ! I have had a fun past two days spending lots of time with my little man! This past weekend was a easy one for me since I just finished a module at school and don't have any school work or studying to do.

On Friday we went to visit a friend of mine who has a daughter who is only a couple of days older then Deen. They had a blast to say the least. While there it hit me ... Deen really enjoys being able to sit at his own little table! So I decided to go on a hunt for a cute set!

Now I went online a checked out toy r us.. they had some cute ones so I thought I would go check it out in store. Sadly they only had one option which was tinkerbell .. and well I couldn't do that! My next option was walmart but they failed me too! I did however pick up a cute mat set there! We then stopped by ikea where I found a cute little table and some cute chairs that went perfectly together. I am very happy with the little set up and Deen loves it!

I put the set up all together while he was napping... so when he woke up we came downstairs and the smile on his face was just priceless!! He ran over and sat down asking for "Mam mam" (food/dinner/lunch) .. Then also pointing to the other chair asking me to sit .. I told him mommy could not sit cause she wouldn't fit! But, his mickey mouse stuffy sure could! So he was happy then. I then went and for him a banana to snack on till dinner. Well that was great but he informed me that mickey needed something to eat also! Such a sweetheart he is!

Growing Pains - Mommy Why Don't You Understand Me?

So I would like to introduce you to a what i am going to try make a weekly post .. I must say I love the idea of "Reasons My Son Is Crying" tumbler page! (If you haven't seen her page check it out it is cute!) So as suggested by a close friend I thought I would take my own little spin on it and create a "Growing pains" weekly post which will consist of well the hardships my son and I faced ... I will do my best to back up my story with some great photos ^_^ .. Along with the hardships there are going to be good times so I will also share a few of those in these posts! So here we go with the moments I captured the last few days ...

Top left to right ...

-- I wouldn't let him have a fruit roll up for breakfast ..
Funny enough I never buy them! I am sending them over seas for a friend! He somehow sniffed them out .. and I now need to buy more * Deen 1 - Mommy 0 *

-- I wouldn't put on his jacket?
For once it was a fair day outside and I thought okay lets put a nice lightish jacket on you! As you can see he is wearing it ... He insisted he needed to put on his JACKET... So we ended up with our heavy winter coat! *Deen 2 - Mommy 0*

-- I wouldn't let him climb to get onto the chair he oh so sweetly placed in the most dangerous way possible.
What can I say it wasn't going to happen. *Deen 2 - Mommy 1*

Well looks like I did alright this time around! Saying no is so difficult to these little ones but, it is a must!

Now for the cute/fun times...

-- Put his hat on PROPERLY all by himself!
He was a happy camper or should I say I was ? ... For some reason he can never get his hat on the right way Ernie always seems to be on the back of his head!! Oh but, not this time!

--Helped daddy fix his car.
Well he would be all over getting a license if it was possible! He just loves helping daddy with the cars and pretend driving!

-- New Umbrella!
He was a very good boy at the shoe shop and well got this umbrella as a treat. Mommy wasn't to thrilled with him having it opened indoors not only for safety but ITS BAD LUCK! ..

What hardships have you faced this week with your children?

Pampered Mommy = Scary Monster

I think we can all relate to that feeling of "I NEED TO BE PAMPERED!" or "LET ME HAVE A MINUTE TO MYSELF" ...  Well it might not always be possible, so I say make the best out of the special moments you do have with you little one(s)!

I crave it every now and then which is why Deenie (Deen) and I love to have pampering time together. He loves seeing me in a the silly mask and calls me a "monster" .. It is cute. I am greatful that he he gives be this time .. and we make the best of it! While he most definetly tries to pick off the mask .. He is a good boy and listens when I ask him nicely to stop and RAWR at him like a monster!

These fun little moments are the best and well you as a mom feel relived and pampered and the little one still feels as if he is getting the attention he wants and deserves. If you little one is older you could even put a mask on them as well!

Here is a silly picture from our fun time together...

I wasn't able to smile due to the mask I apologize !
What do you do to spend time with your little one yet still get something done for yourself?
